Heartbreak for Everton fans who were excited about the club being in advanced talks with Bordeaux winger Malcom.

Despite being heavily reported last night, Everton are not interested in the Brazilian.

The Liverpool Echo understands that the 21-year-old talent, apparently a £30 million target for Everton, is not on the list of transfer targets developed by Marcel Brands and Marco Silva this summer.

Instead of going for Malcom in the winger department Everton are instead looking to bring in Adnan Januzaj from Real Sociedad.

Het Nieuwsblad is reporting that Everton have already been in contact with the Spanish side regarding a move for the former Manchester United player.

The 24-year-old, who scored a winning goal for Belgium past Jordan Pickford at the World Cup this summer, has impressed since making the move to Spain.

Rooney explains

Wayne Rooney has revealed why he decided it was the right time to leave Everton this summer. The England legend returned to his boyhood club last summer. After an excellent start his performances drifted toward the end of the campaign and it appeared he would not be a regular at Goodison Park.

Speaking to the BBC, he stated how he did not want to become ‘a dead weight’ at Goodison Park.

Despite his struggles toward the end of last season, Rooney was still Everton’s leading scorer in 2017-18.
