Everton round-up: Mina deal not done, Ouzounidis signs on and Feeney homework

Yerry Mina’s uncle and agent has told Mundo Deportivo that rumours of a done deal that will see him head to Everton from Barcelona are unfounded.

It has been suggested that Everton have won the race for the £21 million defender after he starred at the World Cup for Colombia.

Plenty of other teams have however been linked with his signature and, according to Yair Mina, no deal with any club has yet been agreed for the player.

Australian teen signs

Everton have handed another first professional contract to one of their talented youngsters this afternoon. Con Ouzounidis has signed on a pro deal at Goodison Park.

The 18-year-old Australian youth international played his way into the Everton under-23 set-up last season and has signed a one-year pro deal at Everton.


He will hope to establish himself as a regular for David Unsworth’s side and eventually push for first-team football.

Feeney studies

Everton defender Morgan Feeney has been discussing his push to return to full fitness after a serious knee injury suffered in March. The talented 19-year-old, who made his first-team debut last season, needed an operation on both knees. He is now nearing a return to action but explained to Everton’s official website that he has been enjoying watching the World Cup and studying defenders at the tournament.

He mentioned Diego Godin, Jose Gimenez and Harry Maguire as central defenders who have impressed him and he wants to learn.
