Eder wanted

Everton are reportedly keen on the signature of Porto defender Eder Militao.

UOL are reporting that Everton have scouted the player twice in the past month. He only joined the Portuguese club last month for a fee in the region of £3.5 million, however, Everton would need to pay a fee more in the region of £17 million to sign the Brazilian.

Everton are hopeful the chance to work with a Portuguese speaker in Marco Silva could help them lure him to Goodison Park.

Nick Astley

Everton reportedly face a fight to keep hold of talented defender Ryan Astley. The Mirror suggests that the centre-back could consider an exit from Everton, who have yet to offer him a professional deal at Goodison Park.

He turns 17 next month and the Welsh youth international could now be plucked away from them, with Arsenal said to be keen on bringing him to London Colney.

Baxter thankful

Jose Baxter has been speaking of his gratitude toward Everton, after they helped him get back on track recently.

The former Everton wonderkid was just returning from football after a second drugs ban when Everton offered him the chance to play and train with the under-23s.

Whilst Baxter has since moved on to Oldham he told The Times he was grateful for the help Everton offered him and that he would love to return to the club again one day, as a coach to warn young players of the pitfalls of success.
