Gelson interest

Everton are reportedly interested in the signature of Atletico Madrid winger Gelson Martins. The Portugal international only joined the Spanish side this summer after relinquishing his contract at Sporting Lisbon this summer.

Everton are named with Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City in a report from the Daily Star. The report claims an asking price in the region of £30 million for the young talent.

The winger scored 13 goals and provided 13 assists for Sporting last season.

Usmanov moves on

Alisher Usmanov will not invest in Everton, according to reports. The Russian billionaire is a long-term associate of current Everton money man Farhad Moshiri and it has been suggested he could pump funds into the club after selling his stake in Arsenal.

However, The Mirror is reporting that he is now putting a package together to buy League One club Charlton Athletic.

Hornby hungry

Everton youngster Fraser Hornby is open to the idea of leaving Everton on loan. The 18-year-old, who scored a hat-trick for Scotland’s under-21s on Friday night, was speaking to the press after that game when he made it clear he feels ready for senior football.

He is hoping to get some first-team minutes with Everton, but will happily go out on loan in January if an opportunity arises.
