Bernard happy

Summer signing Bernard has explained why a move to Everton was so appealing. The Brazilian international joined the Toffees this summer on a free transfer after his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk came to an end.

It was something of a coup from Everton, beating out plenty of competition for his signature.

Speaking to the club’s official website he confirmed his belief that a move to Everton will allow him to get back to his best and become a top player in the Premier League.

Davies hopes

Midfielder Tom Davies has been discussing his recent role as Everton captain. With Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman both missing from first-team duties the youngster has been handed the chance to lead out his side, as he did against Arsenal at the weekend.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, he admitted he was immensely proud at the honour and that he does not want to stop doing the role.

His selection as captain was a shock to many, who felt Gylfi Sigurdsson was the obvious candidate to take the role.

Hornby praise

David Unsworth has praised the performances of Fraser Hornby after he scored against Tottenham in under-23 action recently.

Everton’s youngster won the game 6-0, with Scottish hero Hornby scoring his first goal for the club so far this season.

Speaking to the club’s official website Everton’s under-23 boss stated his belief that he was ‘delighted’ for the teenager.
