Everton are one of a number of Premier League sides reportedly interested in signing Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara this summer – and Alex Iwobi is clearly a fan, having played alongside Kamara in Arsenal’s youth team.
Kamara, 24, has become one of Steven Gerrard’s most pivotal players since his move to Ibrox from Dundee in January 2019. Now more than 18 months on from his move, he has since clocked up 57 appearances for Rangers.
His exploits in the middle of the park have not gone unnoticed. 90Min claim Everton, Newcastle and Southampton are all interested in signing the Finland international – and could table a £10million bid.
Only this season, Iwobi made the surprise inclusion of Kamara in his best XI of players he has played alongside – naming Kamara in a midfield with Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla, over the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.
“In midfield I’m going to put Glen Kamara,” Iwobi told Arsenal’s official YouTube in January 2019. “Every time growing up for the under-18s, he used to keep the ball, dictate play. I’ll give it to him.”

TBR’s view – Kamara could be excellent midfield addition
Everton need a central midfielder. Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains injured, Fabian Delph has struggled at Goodison Park since his move from Manchester City and Morgan Schneiderlin has been sold to Patrick Vieira’s Nice.
Carlo Ancelotti needs a midfielder that can finally replace the combative, ball-playing style of Idrissa Gueye and although he is not as good as the PSG midfielder – Kamara is not far off and certainly plays in a similar way.
At £10million, he is an excellent addition.
