Everton are reportedly interested in signing a talented Argentine defensive midfielder this summer. As reported by Canal San Juan, Everton are keeping tabs on River Plate youngster Santiago Sosa.
The report suggests he has a $15 million (£11.5 million) release clause in his contract with the Argentine giants. It also highlights a potential problem considering a lack of an EU passport, but it appears Everton are still monitoring his situation.

They will be able to do just that this summer. Sosa has been called into the Argentina squad, who will be hoping to claim the under-20 World Cup in Poland this summer. Everton will no doubt be hoping to conclude a deal whilst he is over in Europe for the tournament.
It sounds like a likely story. Everton’s transfer chief Marcel Brands has a fine record of bringing in young talent from South America from his time at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
Sosa is a top young talent and at £11.5 million would be an affordable option with potentially high resale value.
Everton fans should keep tabs on Sosa this summer in Poland to see just how impressive a signing he could be.
