A host of Championship clubs are in the hunt for promising Everton midfielder Josh Bowler, according to TeamTalk.
They report that the wideman is highly rated at Goodison Park and is to be offered a new contract this summer, after which he will be allowed to make a loan move into the second tier.
The report names Middlesbrough, Derby County, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday as the four clubs in the chase for Bowler – with Jonathan Woodgate’s side the frontrunners.
Bowler is yet to see first team action at Everton and a loan into the Championship is the next stage of his development after success at youth level.

Bowler will hope his move into the second tier can have a similar impact to Harry Wilson’s switch from Liverpool to Derby last season.
That switch took Wilson from a player of great potential to a reliable performer, capable of delivering for a side relying on him week in week out.
That’s the step up Bowler needs to make, and moving to a side chasing promotion and looking to play attractive football would be the ideal progression.
But the new long-term contract at Everton indicates that they still have plans to make Bowler one of the next cabs off the rank in terms of the pathway from their famed academy to the first team.
