The Daily Mail is reporting that Manchester United are interested in the French striker Sebastian Haller. It is claimed that he is being looked at as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, whose time at Old Trafford appears to be up.
The report also mentions Everton. It states the Toffees ‘previously looked’ at Haller, with no other comment on the Merseyside interest.
Everton, of course, have themselves never truly replaced Lukaku since his big-money Manchester United switch. So should they challenge for Haller as well this summer?
The Eintracht Frankfurt star’s performances this season have been slightly overshadowed by those of team-mate Luka Jovic. However, his record of 20 goals and 12 assists from 41 games must not be undervalued.

Everton could use such a threat through the middle themselves, with Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin not proving prolific enough at Goodison Park.
Haller will be well known to Marcel Brands. The Frenchman made a name for himself scoring goals in Dutch football at FC Utrecht whilst Brands was the director of football at PSV Eindhoven.
After losing Jovic to Real Madrid, Frankfurt will not part with Haller for cheap.
But if he can finally fill the void left by Lukaku at Everton he would be worth every penny.
