Everton are eyeing a Premier League double swoop for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina and Chelsea defender Fiyako Tomori, according to Sky Sports News.

They report that the Toffees are keen on £65,000-a-week (Spotrac) Lemina to replace Idrissa Gueye, but face competition from Manchester United and Wolves.

Meanwhile, as his pursuit of Kurt Zouma stalls, Marco Silva has turned his attention to his team-mate Tomori, who earned rave reviews on loan at Derby County last season.

Back in April, Frank Lampard – who managed Tomori with the Rams and is now in charge of him at Stamford Bridge – was full of praise for the centre-half.

He said to Derby’s official website: “His progression this year has been incredible. He wants to learn and improve his game but all the attributes he has, he is using them.

There is still a lot more steps in him to go but… it’s scary to think how good he can be. He can go to the top if he plays like he did on Saturday and can get better.”

Lemina has a lot of quality and energy – he has shown enough to suggest he could be an asset for Everton but would need to add more consistency to his game.

Meanwhile, Tomori’s next step is to jump up to the Premier League and if he could replicate the impact of Zouma at Goodison Park, it would go a long way to bolstering a backline that currently looks a little bare.
