Everton would be make a serious statement in the summer if they are successful with their reported interest in forward Andrea Belotti from Italian top-flight club Torino.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Toffees are prepared to fork out a huge £53million in the summer transfer window to bring him to Goodison Park.
The 26-year-old has been one of the most consistent strikers in Serie A during recent years in front of goal and is the captain of his side Torino.
He’s netted 15 times in 31 games across all competitions so far this season, while his overall Torino record stands at 85 goals in 179 senior appearances for them.
The 29-time capped Italy international is yet to make a big-money move to another club, but there is no doubt that he’s got the talent to play at a higher level than a side sat 15th in Serie A.
Everton do already have a brilliant partnership forming in attack between Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarliosn, but they need to build their squad if they want to get serious about competing around th European spots next season.
They Merseyside giants are 12th in the Premier League table right now and Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti needs more recruits.
Ancelotti would be making a serious statement if he can manage to capture Belotti from his homeland Italy for next season, as he’s a goal machine that looks suited to English football and would inject more quality going forward.
Belotti is a physical presence that is good in the air and can hold the ball up, as well as being a composed finisher with both feet.
