Everton are readying a £21.2m bid for a ‘promising’ player who Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign at Liverpool last year, according to a recent report.

Sean Dyche kept Everton up comfortably last season despite an eight-point deduction and the onus will now be to push up into mid-table and beyond.

Finances remain tight, however, it appears The Toffees are still able to make a few additions, as one ‘promising’ midfielder has just been linked with a move to Goodison Park.

Everton ready £21.2m bid for Khephren Thuram

According to Tuto Juve, Everton are interested in signing Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram this summer transfer window.

Juventus and Napoli are also in the race for the France international, with Liverpool a potential suitor to keep an eye on, too.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly wanted to sign him in 2023 but ultimately that deal failed to materialise, so The Reds are expected to be serious contenders for his signature once again.

Thuram is out of contract next year, meaning Nice may be forced to sell this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Everton and Napoli seem to be the most serious suitors at the moment, as they are both ready to make formal bids.

Amadou Onana could be key in Khephren Thuram deal

Amadou Onana could be on his way out of Everton this summer and has made his desire to join a top club known.

That said, if The Toffees are to sanction his sale, the money raised would be crucial in signing Thuram.

As it stands, it’s unclear if the club are able to outlay in excess of £20m on a signing without selling a key asset.
