Everton are progressing ‘easily’ with the signing of Ajax forward David Neres, according to a report from UOL Esporte.
The latest developments suggest that the Toffees have stolen a march on French champions PSG for his signature.
There seem to be very few obstacles in the way of Everton winning the race for Neres; based on the 22-year-old’s desire to play in the Premier League. It has previously been reported in The Telegraph that the Toffees would have to pay £34.5 million for the Brazilian.
Neres had a stunning season with Ajax; scoring 12 goals and registering 15 assists as the club reached the semi-final of the Champions League.
He is currently preparing for the Copa America with Brazil, where he is likely to play alongside Everton forward Richarlison.
Neres boasts rapid pace, superb skill and looks set for a really bright future in the game.
This news from UOL Esporte will delight the Everton faithful.
Should they land Neres in the summer they would have to be seen as one of the frontrunners for a European place next season.
The Brazilian is an amazing talent and he would be a coup for not only Everton but also for the Premier League.
A worst-case scenario for the Toffees would be him playing out of his skin at the Copa America and catching the eye of a European giant.
PSG are interested in his services and a strong showing with Brazil could see them press ahead with a deal.
