Idrissa Gueye – The 27-year-old may have been signing of the summer and he competed well in the midfield areas, keeping Eden Hazard quiet on Sunday. His work rate and mobility make him perfect for such a role. It was a poor afternoon for Everton, but the midfielder was a rare bright spot. 7
Tom Davies – The Englishman was enthusiastic and worked hard for his team, but he was bullied off the ball at times and it wasn’t his finest performance of the season. His work off the ball was impressive as he completed three tackles. However, he couldn’t offer the creativity from deep that his side needed. 5
Enner Valencia – It was a rare start for the on-loan attacker and he did nothing to show why he should be playing more regularly. He only had 27 touches of the ball and wasn’t helped by the lack of service he was given. However, when he had the opportunity, his final ball let him down. 4
Ross Barkley – The England international hasn’t been able to assert himself in big matches and he once again failed to do so against Chelsea. Everton lacked creativity and their main creative force was thwarted with his decision making questionable at times. 4
