Arsenal have used their Europa League last 16 tie against Rennes as an opportunity to hold talks over a potential transfer for Ismaila Sarr, according to Goal.
They report that the Gunners have had the 10-goal star – who played as the Ligue 1 outfit saw their 3-1 first leg lead slip away as they crashed out of Europe’s secondary competition last night – watched on many occasions this season.
Apparently, much of that was on the instruction of Sven Mislintat, but the fact that talks have taken place even since the German left the Emirates Stadium suggests their interest is very much live.
That is bad news for Everton, after WIW reported back in January that they were chasing Sarr’s signature during the winter window and if they want to land him now, they will have to much the opportunistic Gunners out of the way.

This is the problem that Everton will have in their pursuit of the top six; if they are in competition with any of them for a player, it’s tricky to attract him.
Everton need to start finding top six quality players that they can attract and afford after a few seasons now of paying bumper prices for fairly mediocre talent.
