Big Sam man wanted
Everton are apparently keen on bringing in Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman was previously targeted by former boss Sam Allardyce, who had worked with him at both Sunderland and Crystal Palace. The attacking defender is still being considered, despite the departure of Allardyce. New director of football Marcel Brands is said to be a fan and the Palace man is being considered as a potential long-term replacement for veteran Leighton Baines.
Van Aanholt had an excellent season with Palace, helping them survive the drop under Roy Hodgson but he would surely relish the chance to make a move to Everton.

Pricked by Rose
The same report does carry some bad news regarding Danny Rose. Earlier this week it was reported by the Sun that the England international is a target for Everton this summer for the same job. A £40 million deal was even mooted. However, the Mail report that the Spurs star is unlikely to swap North London for Merseyside this summer.
Rose would have been the dream long-term replacement for Baines, but it would appear he sees a move to Goodison as something of a step down.
Conquering William transfer
Everton are set to make a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho this summer. It is reported by A Bola in Portugal that Everton boss Marco Silva is keen on the 26-year-old Portuguese international to help bolster his central midfield options.
The report also claims that Monaco are also keen, as they look to replace Liverpool newbie Fabinho.
Everton are said to be considering a €25 million (£21.9 million) move for the player this summer and will hope they can finally bring the bullish midfielder to the Premier League.
It would certainly be an eye-catching transfer if Everton could convince the Euro 2016 winner to head to Goodison Park. Fans will hope it is one they can push through, especially at what seems a reasonable price.
