Silva done

It’s the announcement Everton fans have all been waiting for. Marco Silva is the club’s new manager, taking over from Sam Allardyce.

The Portuguese former Hull City and Watford boss has agreed to a three-year deal at Goodison Park.

The 40-year-old immediately alluded to a more attractive playing style on the pitch and hopes of taking Everton forward.

Everton first wanted to appoint Silva as a replacement for Ronald Koeman when the Dutchman was sacked in November. That caused his downfall at Watford and he himself was sacked.

Everton also confirmed the arrival of his long-term backroom staff but club legend Duncan Ferguson will remain as part of the first-team coaching staff.

Grealish wanted

Everton are believed to be interested in the signature of Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish. The talented 20-year-old is set to be one of many big assets sold on by the Championship club this summer, after they failed to win promotion to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail are now reporting that Everton, along with West Ham, are interested in the £25 million-rated midfield maestro.

Grealish was in fine form this season, finally maturing into an excellent talent and is expected to have plenty of suitors for his signature.

Lucas no-go

However, it appears that Everton have missed out on Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira. They were linked with a £22 million move for the player this week, matching his release clause with the Serie A club.

However, as reported by Sky Italia and relayed by Inside Futbol, that no longer looks likely. With Jorginho set to join Manchester City, Napoli need a new central midfielder.

It appears it is the Partenopei who have won the race for the 22-year-old Uruguayan, leaving Everton to look elsewhere.
