Lozano targeted
Everton are in the hunt for Mexico forward Hirving Lozano this summer. ESPN Deportes has reported that the Mexican international is a top target for new Everton director of football Marcel Brands.
He signed Lozano last summer, bringing him from Pachuca to PSV Eindhoven. He went on to score 17 goals in 29 league games. Everton will now test the resolve of Brands’ former team by making a move for the attacker. Valencia are also believed to be keen but Everton will feel that the presence of Brands can give them the edge in the pursuit.

Bayern’s number one Pick
Everton may face a long-term fight to keep hold of their star goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, as he emerges as Bayern Munich’s preferable choice as the eventual replacement to Manuel Neuer. The Sun claim that the Bavarian side will be scouting Pickford in international duty this summer.
Bayern’s much-celebrated goalkeeper has been out of action most of this season with a fractured foot. The Bundesliga giants are therefore set to consider Pickford as an alternative, should they decide to bring in better competition for the crocked stopper.
Everton paid Sunderland £25 million for Pickford last summer and he looks set to be England’s number one at the World Cup in Russia.
Williams woe
Everton defender Ashley Williams has suffered a horrific injury whilst playing for Wales. The veteran centre-half was featuring for his nation against Mexico in the USA this week.
During what appeared to be an innocuous collision with West Ham United forward Javier Hernandez he suffered several broken ribs. One of the broken ribs punctured his lung, causing it to collapse.
The 33-year-old underwent surgery in Beverly Hills yesterday and will make a full recovery.
It tops off a poor few months for Williams. He did not play for Everton after his reckless sending off v Burnley back in March. He has also become one of the least popular players among the Everton fanbase, but the blue faithful will no doubt wish him the speediest of recoveries.
