Funes Mori price-tag

Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori is being linked with a move to Mexico at the moment. The Argentine international is being linked with a move this summer after an injury-ravaged season at Goodison Park for the centre-back.

A move to Monterrey has been mooted, but the news today is suggesting that a deal is not possible.

The Liverpool Echo is reporting that Everton are not willing to sell Funes Mori for much less than the £9.5 million that the Toffees originally paid for him.

That fee could find the Mexican side priced out of the race to sign the Argentine international this summer.

Everton are set to make some changes this summer, with new director of football Marcel Brands set to bring in new faces and let others go. Funes Mori would be one of the players that they could consider letting go considering his injury problems.

Hornby strikes

Young Everton striker Fraser Hornby had a day to remember yesterday. The Scottish striker is currently in action at the Toulon Tournament with his nation and was brilliant in their opening fixture of the competition.

Scotland came from 1-0 down to draw 1-1 with Togo, with the Scottish striker heading home a goal that earns him the moniker the ‘next Duncan Ferguson’.

Williams hope

Ashley Williams is pleased to be back playing for Wales, as he is quoted by the BBC. The 33-year-old is set to start for Wales on international duty this week, with his awful Everton season behind him.

The experienced defender was poor for Everton this term and his sending off against Burnley ended his dreadful campaign with disgrace.

Williams can hopefully rediscover something close to his best form with Wales and offer something better to his club.
