Everton need to sign a striker before loaning out Cenk Tosun

Everton centre-forward Cenk Tosun is reportedly on the radar of Premier League club Crystal Palace.

According to BBC Sport, Palace are interested in taking the 27-year-old on loan at Selhurst Park for the rest of the season.

But the Toffees need to be wary of getting rid of yet another striker in January, as they have already shipped out Oumar Niasse on loan to Cardiff City this month.

Marco Silva should allow Tosun’s temporary exit under the condition that Everton sign a new attacking option first.

Tosun has had a frustrating time at Goodison Park since his £27million arrival a year ago and has never really found his feet with the Merseyside club.

The Turkey international has scored just two goals in 19 appearances this season and mainly been used as a substitute by Silva.

He has slipped behind Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order, which is why allowing him to leave makes sense.

Tosun has shown in the past he can be a tidy finisher in the box and strong in the air, which is why a loan stint in England could be the making of him.

Everton can’t afford though to risk having just two senior strikers in their squad for the second half of the season if they want to secure a European spot.
