Everton need to prepare for Leicester threat James Maddison

Everton travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City on Saturday and know they will need to be at their best to pick up three Premier League points.

The Toffees have just nine points from their opening seven league games and will be keen to move up the standings away from mid-table during the next few weeks.

Manager Marco Silva will need to set up his side defensively well to deal with the Foxes, while his team has the quality in attack to hurt opponents in the final third.

One in-form player that the Merseyside club may need to pay special attention to is James Maddison, who must be on cloud nine right now.

The 21-year-old earned his first senior call-up to the England squad on Thursday and has been a revelation since he joined Leicester in the summer from Norwich City.

Maddison is an attacking midfielder that has been directly involved in five goals in seven league games, which makes him an obvious threat for Leicester.

Everton would be smart not to concede any needless fouls around the penalty area, as he’s already proven he is a set-piece specialist that can punish you.

It could also be a game for defensive midfielder Idrissa Gueye to keep him in close company and ensure the playmaker doesn’t get plenty of time in space to dictate play.
