Everton have just begun to falter of late.
The Toffees made a tremendous start to 2020/21, and found themselves top of the table after four games.
But Carlo Ancelotti’s side have found the going tough either side of the latest international break.
They’ve now lost four of their last five games, their latest defeat coming at the hands on Leeds United on Saturday.
It could be argued that right now, there is a slight over-reliance on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score the goals.
The England international has 10 so far in the league. With Everton scoring 19 in total, Calvert-Lewin’s haul accounts for over 50%.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter much who puts the ball in the net so long as the team picks up points, but it is always good for goals to come from other sources.
One man Ancelotti will perhaps hope to see scoring more regularly from now on is Richarlison, who has bagged just once in the Premier League this season.
He, of course, did miss three games after picking up a red card against Liverpool, but given the team’s free-scoring ways at times, it is a little surprising to see him still stuck on one Premier League goal.
TBR’ View – Everton need Richarlison to rediscover goalscoring mojo
The Brazilian is a terrific player, and Everton will be hoping he can get back amongst the goals soon.
The £90,000-a-week star (Spotrac) does have a few to his name in the EFL Cup which is good, but he really needs to start scoring in the Premier League, especially if the Toffees are to challenge for a place in Europe.
Calvert-Lewin has been a revelation but cannot do it all on his own, and it’s important for other attackers, like Richarlison, to chip in.
