Everton are somewhat light in terms of centre-back options.
The Toffees have Yerry Mina and Michael Keane as the first choices, but then Marco Silva only has Mason Holgate in reserve, although midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin can slot in if needs be.
Marco Silva was known to be chasing Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, but the Blues weren’t ready to let him leave again due to their transfer ban.

Silva has refused to rule out another approach for the Frenchman in January (Liverpool Echo), but Chelsea’s stance may not change.
Should it not, then maybe Everton should consider reigniting their previous interest in Torino defender Armando Izzo, who has made an impressive start to 2019/20.
The tenacious Italian, who made his debut for the national side in March of this year, was reported by Tuttosport in June to be a target of the Goodison Park club.
TBR’s view
Everton undoubtedly need some more cover at centre-half, with Mina’s recent injury record not particularly encouraging – although so far in 2019/20, so good for the Colombian.

Torino may have shipped 10 goals in six Serie A games, but Izzo has stood out for the Italian outfit.
According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old has so far won more tackles and interceptions per 90 in the league than both Mina and Keane. He wins less aerial duels than the giant Everton pair, but standing at 6ft that is to be expected. His average rating after six games is an impressive 7.12, which is higher than Mina (6.81) and Keane (6.67) who have played seven games apiece.
Izzo really is an underrated player and Silva should definitely be hovering.
