Everton must look elsewhere if they want to offload Mirallas as Fiorentina refuse option

Fiorentina will not be buying Everton’s Kevin Mirallas this summer when his loan spell with the club ends, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Fiorentino, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

They report that the Italian outfit have the option to land the Belgian winger for 7 million euros this summer but his form has not been impressive enough to earn a permanent deal.

Apparently, for a player of Mirallas’ age, his output of just two goals and an assist this season has not been enough to justify a permanent switch.

And now Everton have a decision to make over Mirallas’ future as they embark on a summer where Marco Silva really needs to take the club forward.

Everton could do with some increased attacking impetus, but Mirallas has generally proved himself too flighty to provide that on a consistent basis during his time at Goodison Park.

Silva also has Yannick Bolasie out on loan at Anderlecht, so he is not short on talented wingers who are perhaps slightly too old and inconsistent to make a genuine impact at Goodison.

But if he cannot offload Mirallas once again, there is always the chance he could be handed an unlikely second chance at Goodison Park.
