Reports in Italy are suggesting that Juventus are ready to give up on the talent of Daniele Rugani, who could be sold this summer.

Calciomercato is suggesting that the Italian defender could be used as a potential bartering tool in any Juventus swap deals this summer. If that fails, the report claims Juventus are ready to sell the 25-year-old for a fee in the region of €25 million (£22m).

The report mentions interest from the likes of Arsenal, Roma and Zenit St Petersburg. But Everton should also be on that list.

Everton have been linked with Rugani before.

Back in 2016, Everton reportedly (CalcioMercato) made a £25.5 million bid that was rejected by the Bianconeri. More recently, as reported by Calciotoday, Rai Sport were suggesting that Everton were plotting a move for Rugani in the summer. Tuttosport, as relayed by TMW, claimed that Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of the player and would like Everton to make a move for his services.

Everton’s need for a centre-back reinforcements has been lessened recently by the form of Mason Holgate. That said, with Michael Keane and Yerry Mina still far from consistent, Rugani could be an apt addition at the heart of defence.

Everton have good relations with Juventus, after an amicable and successful swoop on the club for Moise Kean last summer.

Whilst financial considerations will need to be made amid the current global health crisis, at £22 million Everton would be getting Rugani for less than they were willing to spend four years ago.
