Everton are not expected to spending big money in the January transfer window. With that in mind, loan deals are a far more likely option for the club. One player who is apparently now available should certainly be on the radar of both Marcel Brands and Marco Silva.
Gelson Martins is reportedly a loan target for Arsenal and Monaco. Marca has reported that Atletico need him off the wage bill to make room for the impending move of Alvaro Morata from Chelsea.
Everton have, of course, been linked with the player before.

In the summer, amid talk of several Sporting Lisbon departures, Martins was often mentioned as a potential Everton target.
As reported by The Telegraph, Everton were very keen on signing Martins in the summer. He made his breakthrough to Sporting B whilst Silva was the first-team manager in the Portuguese capital.
Everton missed out, as did a number of Premier League clubs. He chose Atletico Madrid with reports suggesting Atletico eventually settled on a €30 million (£26.5 million) compensation fee with Sporting for the player.
But he has barely featured for the club and Atletico could now look to loan him out.
Everton would undoubtedly love to snap him up. He could provide extra competition in the wide positions but can also operate as a striker.
He would certainly be a massive upgrade on the departed Oumar Niasse, Theo Walcott and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who all operate in similar roles.
The window to sign Martins is now and Everton should not let it pass by.
