Everton’s need for reinforcements in central defence is clear.
Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t have too many options at his disposal, with Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate and youngster Jarrad Branthwaite the current stars to call upon.
Sometimes last term, Everton went with three centre-halves.

If that is on Ancelotti’s agenda for 2020/21, then the Toffees absolutely need one or two more players for that position.
And there is one player who Everton might just be about to miss out on.
He is being linked with a move to Chelsea (Sky Sports, via GFFN), but Malang Sarr has just become a free agent after running down his contract with French club Nice.
The 21-year-old is supposedly interesting Frank Lampard’s Blues, who are said to want to loan the player out again if they got him.
TBR’s View – Everton have to steal in
That Nice have lost Sarr for nothing is a big shame for them, as he is a top young talent.

The tough-tackling star has amazing vision, highlighted by his highly impressive 90.4% pass success in Ligue 1 in 2019/20 (WhoScored).
The Daily Mail have ran a feature on Sarr that describes the left-footed player as someone who is ‘likely to win over fans pretty quickly with his passion and gritty displays’, which would suggest him as being ideal at Everton.
Last term there were also a few occasions where Nice played with three at the back, which surely further adds to his appeal for Everton.
Arsenal and Barcelona have also both been linked, but the Toffees should make a statement of intent and elbow aside the competition for a highly rated player who would undoubtedly be a steal in the current climate.
