Michael Ball and Gary Lineker react to Everton defeat; Ball rages at Toffees star

Chelsea destroyed Carlo Ancelotti’s team this afternoon.

Everton were thrashed 4-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and former players Gary Lineker and Michael Ball have reacted on social media.

Goals from Mason Mount, Pedro, Willian and Olivier Giroud saw the Blues home and left Everton licking their wounds after another defeat.

Everton’s next game is a big deal. They welcome champions-elect, Liverpool, to Goodison Park a week tomorrow.

Lineker enjoyed one really good season at Everton and he took to Twitter to rave about Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour; although he did have his say on the performance of Carlo Ancelotti’s team as well.

Ball spent five years with the Toffees and he also took to Twitter to speak about the performance.

In two tweets he made a cheeky suggestion that Everton’s players might have been out on Saturday night and also suggested he was unhappy with Michael Keane.

Keane has come if for some criticism from Everton supporters this season and wasn’t great once again at Chelsea.

The £60,000-a-week centre-back has looked shaky at certain periods of the season, although on Sunday he wasn’t alone.

Keane will need to improve between now and the end of the season. Ancelotti will probably look towards a busy summer and some players could make way.

Everton might look towards new defenders and in particular a new centre-back. If that is the case, Keane needs to show he has what it takes.

Ball is perhaps is a bit harsh to rage about the Stockport-born defender on an afternoon when so many others also fluffed their lines.
