Gueye replacement identified

Reports have emerged courtesy of La Voix Du Nord that Everton had lined up Lille midfielder Thiago Mendes in January.

The deal was subject to Idrissa Gueye joining PSG, which of course never came to fruition.

The Brazilian has been in stunning form for the French club this season. His form has contributed to them fighting for Champions League qualification.

It remains to be seen whether Everton will return for the man valued at £20 million, according to the report.

Forgotten man to return

Marco Silva delivered some surprising news in his press conference that Yerry Mina is a doubt for the trip to Cardiff City, as per confirmation in the Liverpool Echo.

Digne demands more

Following three straight league defeats Everton left-back has told the club’s official website that the team knows they can do more.

He said: “We know the quality we have and that we can do better and, in the future, for sure, we will do better.

“We are totally focused and we know results can change very fast.”

The Toffees will go in search of a much-needed victory when they travel to Cardiff City tonight.
