Jean-Kévin Augustin of RB Leipzig is Everton’s top striking target for the summer transfer window, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
They report that Augustin has a contract until 2022 with the Bundesliga club but that has not put Everton off placing him right at the top of their summer shopping list.
There’s no doubt the Toffees have been short on firepower this season; Richarlison has been their best option through the middle but looks more comfortable out on the wing.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one for the future but Marco Silva needs a more established, reliable option up front as Cenk Tosun continues to toil.

Tosun was Sam Allardyce’s £27m (Sky Sports) punt during his short spell in charge and Silva has been paying for that all season, with a blunt strikeforce at the spearhead of his attempts to make Everton a stronger attacking force.
And if Silva is to spend similar money on Augustin, he has to make sure he gets it right. And Augustin is still a young option, who is not a regular out in Germany and that’s what makes it a genuine gamble.
In the same way as Tosun was, Augustin is a punt, as opposed to a more reliable source of goals and he will have to step up impressively if he is to be the man to fire Everton into a new era under Silva.
