Everton loan watch: Robinson shines but Garbutt, Tarashaj and co all struggle

Everton currently have plenty of first-team players out on loan.

It was not exactly a weekend to remember for Everton‘s loanees, with only one impressing.

Luke Garbutt – Oxford

Not an ideal start to life with his new club for the left-back. His competitive debut ended in a 4-0 defeat to Barnsley.

Henry Onyekuru – Galatasaray

The Nigerian had to sit on the bench as his new side were defeated in the Turkish Super Cup. Akhisar Belediyespor won the game on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.

Shani Tarashaj – Grasshoppers

The Everton loanee could not make a significant impact off the bench for Grasshoppers Zurich this weekend.

He came on in the 76th minute as his side lost 4-2 to FC Basel. It is their third defeat in three Swiss Super League fixtures.

Ashley Williams – Stoke City

The Welsh international sat on the bench as Stoke suffered an opening game defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.

Antonee Robinson – Wigan Athletic

The USA left-back had an excellent debut for Wigan. Marauding down the left-hand side he was a constant threat for opponents Sheffield Wednesday as Wigan picked up a 3-2 win.

Kevin Mirallas – Fiorentina

The Belgian did not sign for La Viola in time for their friendly clash with Fortuna Dusseldorf this weekend.
