Everton loan watch: Garbutt’s three assists, Martina speaks and Williams’ debut

Luke Garbutt – Oxford United

After a poor start to his career at the Kassam Stadium, the left-back remained on the bench for the League One side v Sunderland at the weekend.

However, he had a blinder in midweek, providing all three assists in Oxford’s 3-0 EFL Cup win over Newport County.

Henry Onyekuru – Galatasaray

The Nigerian scored again last week in a 6-0 win over Alanyaspor. However, the weekend saw his side lose 4-0 to Trabzonspor in a shock thrashing.

Shani Tarashaj – Grasshoppers

Concerns are surely mounting for the injury-prone Swiss. He missed this weekend’s game with FC Luzern with an undisclosed injury.

Ashley Williams and Cuco Martina – Stoke City

Williams sat on the bench upon his return from injury. Stoke lost the game 2-1 with Cuco Martina playing the full 90 minutes. He spoke to the local press about the club’s need to cut out defensive mistakes after the game. He also mentioned he is ‘feeling sharp’ at his new club and is ‘enjoying it a lot’.

Antonee Robinson and Callum Connolly – Wigan Athletic

The American left-back put in yet another excellent display as Wigan beat Rotherham 1-0. Callum Connolly also played a full 90 minutes and impressed.

Kevin Mirallas – Fiorentina

The Belgian is still waiting for his first appearance for the Italian side. He sat on the bench as they defeated Udinese 1-0.

Nikola Vlasic – CSKA Moscow

Put in another decent display at the weekend, playing the full 90 minutes in a 4-0 win. Is still waiting to register a goal or assist for his new club.

Mo Besic – Middlesbrough

Played the full 90 minutes as Middlesbrough held off Leeds United at Elland Road on Friday night in a 0-0 draw.

Joe Williams – Bolton Wanderers

Described as ‘immense’ by manager Phil Parkinson for his display against Preston in a 2-2 draw. It was his debut for the Trotters and he will hope to keep up such performances.

Yannick Bolasie – Aston Villa

The winger is still waiting to make his debut for Aston Villa as he works on his fitness.

Sandro Ramirez – Real Sociedad

The Spaniard will have to wait until after the international break for his debut which could be against former club Barcelona.

Matthew Pennington – Ipswich Town

The defender made his debut for Ipswich in the ‘Old Farm’ derby against Norwich at the weekend.

He put in a solid display and will hope his loan spell goes better at Portman Road than the one at Elland Road last term.
