Everton midfielder Andre Gomes appears to be very happy at Goodison Park if his latest interview is anything to go by.
The Portuguese ace was speaking to the club’s official website about how things have been going in recent weeks.
The star, on a season-long loan from La Liga giants Barcelona, has been in brilliant form for the Toffees and has inspired his team to three straight victories in the Premier League.
Gomes caught the eye once again against Arsenal on Sunday, with Everton fans lauding his classy display during the 1-0 win.
The Euro 2016 winner said: “If you have good teammates with high quality, too, you will learn much more, so I have to thank all of them.
“We have a lot of players who have got very good ability, especially on the ball. It is really good when all the players have the confidence to keep playing.
“There is a lot of high quality around me, so it is easier for me to play and create the space for them. We try to get the chemistry with players around us. So I enjoy it a lot playing with them.
Gomes’ comments must make for encouraging reading for Everton fans hoping to see the club sign him up permanently.
The former Valencia ace has shown brilliant technical quality this season and Everton have to keep him if they are to challenge for Europe next season.
It will be paramount for the club to continue their good form until the end of the season, as Gomes will surely not be short of suitors when the transfer window opens – Tottenham, for one, are interested in the playmaker according to The Telegraph.
It’s important for the Toffees to now show Gomes they are a worthy permanent home for him, and a club that have the potential to go places.
