Everton’s Mason Holgate has reignited his career since he joined West Brom in the Championship on loan in January for the second half of the season.
The 22-year-old defender has discovered top form for the Baggies and is playing a vital role in their push for promotion.
He’s struggled to cement his spot at centre-back since breaking into the senior set-up at Goodison Park, but during his loan spell with West Brom he’s been a huge success at right-back.
Holgate has made 12 appearances so far for them, scoring one goal and supplying three assists in return.
Everton signed him for £2million (Sky Sports) back in 2015 and years later it looks like he may now have found his best position at full-back.
With Seamus Coleman delivering inconsistent displays in Everton’s XI, it looks like there could be a spot open in the team at right-back going into next season.
But Holgate should be frustrated to hear that the Merseyside club are reportedly eyeing a defender for the position.

According to the Sun, Everton are lining up a move for Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier in the summer.
The report details that the England international is valued at around £20million and the Toffees are back in the market for him after previous interest.
Trippier would surely be a mainstay in the side if he did complete a summer move to Goodison Park and that would be bad news for Holgate’s prospects.
