Everton in talks to sell 'unbelievable' in-demand player - report
Everton are in talks with a club in the United Arab Emirates over the possible sale of Bernard, according to the Liverpool Echo.
In addition, the Toffees winger is reportedly also courting interest from Russia and Greece.
Bernard joined Everton in 2018 on a free transfer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 28-year-old was a regular in the Merseysiders’ starting XI under Marco Silva.
However, he became more of a peripheral figure under Carlo Ancelotti.
Bernard made 18 appearances in 2020-21, of which 12 came in the Premier League, and just two were top-flight starts.
He was reportedly close to sealing a permanent move to Dubai-based Al-Nasr in January, but the deal collapsed.
Bernard is one of Everton’s highest earners, on a reported £120,000-per-week.
In addition, his contract expires next summer, so this is the last chance the Toffees have of getting a decent fee for him.
Everton legend Leighton Baines previously described Bernard as a player with “unbelievable quality” (Liverpool Echo).
But despite this, it looks as though the brazilian remains surplus to requirements and likely to head for the Goodison exit door.
