Donny van de Beek would reportedly be open to a move to the Premier League.
Sky Sports claim to have been told that the Dutch midfielder is keen to come to the English top-flight, and that an exit from Ajax is a ‘strong possibility’ despite him being reasonably happy at the club.
van de Beek has really impressed for Ajax in the past couple of years, carving out a reputation as being a midfielder that makes things happen.
The 23-year-old has clocked up 175 appearances for Ajax and scored 41 goals. He has also laid on 34 assists.
van de Beek has previously been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, as well as Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.
In light of the report that he wants to come to the Premier League, perhaps Carlo Ancelotti and Everton should be on red alert.
TBR’s View – Sigurdsson upgrade
Everton have a chance here to revitalise and rejuvenate the attacking midfield position.
Unfortunately, Gylfi Sigurdsson has struggled at Goodison Park since his move from Swansea City in 2017.
For some reason, the Iceland international just hasn’t been able to produce consistently, and at the age of 30, he isn’t getting any younger.
No offers have yet been made for van de Beek according to Sky, so Everton should quickly get to work.
The nine-cap international would not come cheap, although in the current climate he might not be as expensive as this time last year, but the Toffees have got to show some ambition this summer if they are to make a push for Europe.
