Everton appear to have been handed a major boost in their quest to land Andre Gomes permanently, with The Daily Mail reporting Tottenham Hotspur have now dropped their interest in the player.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino apparently won’t be moving for the Barcelona player despite having monitored him for months.

Gomes spent the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Goodison Park after being deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
The silky midfielder wowed fans with his elegant style of play and the Toffees want to sign him as one of their own.
Barca are said to be holding out for around £30 million for the Portugal international.
TBR’s view
Spurs supposedly dropping their interest in Gomes is great news for Marco Silva.
Arguably they were Everton’s biggest competitors in the race to sign the star.

West Ham are currently the only English side to have lodged an actual bid for Gomes, but their (rejected) offer of £18 million (Sky Sports) suggests they aren’t serious suitors.
Everton have to feel encouraged about the development.
Snapping Gomes up on a permanent deal would be great business – he has more than shown he has the quality of a £30 million player.
