It seems a matter of when, and not if, Allan will join Everton.

The Napoli midfielder is, by all accounts, Goodison Park-bound to reunite with his former manager Carlo Ancelotti in the Premier League.

Allan to Everton has been a very long-running transfer saga, and fans will be relieved when confirmation of the deal finally arrives.

A deal made up of £22 million plus £2.6 million in add-ons is reportedly in place (Express), and talkSPORT have said the 29-year-old is expected to have a medical next week.

With an announcement seemingly imminent, Everton fans can surely be forgiven for getting excited about Allan.

And Toffees supporters will no doubt love what former Napoli manager Gianni di Marzio has had to say about the player.

He told Radio Marte (quoted by Arena Napoli): “Should Allan be kept or sold for more money? Yes, he depreciated.

In the Brazilian national team, he is a starter. Twenty-four million euros plus bonuses, for such a midfielder, for me that’s a small amount.

“I don’t know what happened with the club and Gennaro Gattuso, but he’s still a strong player, on the run, who attacks space and is an example in terms of character.

“It’s no coincidence, I repeat, that we’re talking about a Brazilian starter.

Everything is pointing to Allan being a really good signing for the Toffees.

The Goodison crowd love someone who puts tackles in and works their socks off.

That was part of the reason Idrissa Gana Gueye was such a firm favourite at the club before he left for Paris Saint-Germain.

The tenacious Brazilian really does have the potential to become one of the best bits of business by the club in a long time.
