Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has announced his retirement from football, according to Sky Sports.
The Australian has been playing for Indian Super League side Jamshedpur, but will reportedly not renew his contract when it expires at the end of this month.
He lifted the lid on his plans now to Optus Sport, via Sky Sports: “I’m an old man now in football years. I’d love to keep playing; had a great stint for six months in India.
“But I’m interested in TV, going to start my A Licence, and spending quality time with my family and chilling out for a bit. It was amazing to play in four big continents. I had a great career and I’m really thankful.”

Cahill was such a bargain during the days of David Moyes and came to epitomise the battling style of play Everton used to great effect during that era.
They are richer now but arguably a poorer side, and some of the supporters on Twitter expressed that they would love to have a prime Cahill back now, but would settle for the compromise of having him on Marco Silva’s coaching team.
The Toffees were keen to pay tribute to their former hero and we’ve put together some of the best tributes to Cahill as he calls time on an outstanding career…
