Everton fans wax lyrical about James Rodriguez display against Crystal Palace

Everton maintained their 100 per cent winning start to the season by beating Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were raving about James Rodriguez for his individual performance.

The Toffees managed a hard-fought 2-1 win at Selhurst Park against Palace and they currently sit top of the Premier League table as a result.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his goalscoring start to the season by netting the opener, before Cheikhou Kouyate equalised with a powerful header for the hosts.

Richarlison’s 40th minute penalty ended up deciding the contest and they managed to grind out a win without being at their very best.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team have started the league season with three wins out of three, plus they’ve also won both Carabao Cup matches they’ve played as well, meaning there is a huge sense of optimism around Goodison Park right now.

A selection of Everton supporters claimed on social media that Rodriguez was once again a star man for them and they are delighted with his impact since he joined in the summer from Real Madrid.

The 29-year-old playmaker operated from the right wing cutting inside onto his favoured left foot and provided a creative threat for the Merseyside giants during the contest.

He played a defence splitting pass in the build up to the opening goal and delivered some exceptional set-pieces into the penalty box as well.

Here are some Everton fans discussing Rodriguez:
