Everton host West Ham on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are extremely keen to see midfielder Tom Davies play.
The 21-year-old has made just two substitute appearances so far this season from the bench in the league, while also featuring in a Carabao Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday.
He’s fallen far down the pecking order under manager Marco Silva and is struggling for opportunities.
But the central midfielder has impressed with England’s Under-21s side during the international break and is surely due a chance for a Toffees side that are really struggling.
The Merseyside club sit in the relegation places after eight league matches this season and a European bid looks miles off.
Everton saw Fabian Delph pull out of the England squad through injury and Jean-Philippe Gbamin has been ruled out for three months with an injury.
It leaves a major gap in the centre of the park going into the fixture at home to West Ham and it will be intriguing to see what Silva does.
A selection of Everton supporters on social media feel that Davies deserves a first league start this season and the chance to rediscover his form.
The youngster brought energy, enthusiasm and quality in the midfield when he first broke into the senior team from the academy, and needs to try rediscover that player.
Here are some Everton fans on Davies:
Would love nothing more than for him to play v West ham and absolutely boss it

Needs to start Saturday.

It will inevitably be Gomes and Schneiderlin vs West Ham. But I’d certainly be looked to make it a 3 with Tom Davies

Tom Davies was boss for u-21 so you know with Delph being out what that means? He will be on the bench v West Ham while Schniderlin plays.

All I want to see is Tom Davies start against West Ham. Give me that.

Delph now out of West Ham game, means Tom Davies is a must. Can’t be having a midfield of Gomes, Schneiderlin an Gylfi. West Ham will run riot, no pace or energy at all. Davies will give us energy, enthusiasm an passion

No point persisting with Schneiderlin. No long term benefits for the club. Try Davies playing deep, whee he’s been playing for England. Time to give him a run of games, and let him sink or swim. https://t.co/w5hMj9LQLz
