Everton fans have taken to social media to express their desire to see Niels Nkounkou start against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup tonight.
The Toffees take on the League One side in the competition’s third round at Highbury Stadium tonight, with confidence in Carlo Ancelotti’s team currently surging.
Everton have won all three of their games in 2020/21 so far, beating Salford City in the previous round of the EFL Cup to reach this point.
One man who made his debut that game and caught the eye was 19-year-old full-back Niels Nkounkou, who was signed by the club from Marseille this transfer window.
The Frenchman will hope to get nod once again from Ancelotti, as he bids to make an impression to become Lucas Digne’s regular backup in the first-team.
The teenager did play the full game against Salford, so one would think there is a reasonable chance Ancelotti will put his faith in him once more.
It is certainly something Evertonians on Twitter would like to see.
The club released an interview with the player ahead of the game, and fans couldn’t hide their desire to see the talented youngster continue at left-back:
Hope so was class against Salford 🔵
