Everton fans have been having their say on social media after reports claimed the Toffees could be interested in signing Marcelo.
The Real Madrid star has had a glittering career with both Brazil and the Spanish giants. He’s racked up over 50 caps for the Samba Stars, while winning four Champions League titles in Madrid.

But The Mirror has claimed that both Everton and Leeds are in the hunt to sign Marcelo this summer, who can apparently leave Madrid if he likes.
At 33, Marcelo is far from at his peak. However, he is still a solid player and the experience he has at the very top could be invaluable.
But, discussing the potential signing on Twitter, Everton fans don’t seem overly impressed with the links.
Everton fans discuss potential Marcelo signing
While Everton fans clearly don’t doubt the talent that Marcelo has, nor the success he has experienced, it doesn’t seem like he’d be the most welcome at Goodison Park.
The Toffees do, as some have pointed out, have options at left-back. Lucas Digne is number one, while others like Ben Godrey and Seamus Coleman can slot in if needed.
Twitter, then, was full of comments from Everton supporters talking about the Marcelo news. And it seems, in the main, it’s a signing that wouldn’t cause too much excitement.
