Cenk Tosun had started to bed in rather well at Everton towards the end of last season, raising hopes that his first full season in English football would see him spearhead the Toffees’ attack into Marco Silva’s new era.
A huge barren spell at the start of the season saw him dropped but the festive period tends to bring about second chances up and down the Premier League and Tosun was recalled to the Everton side for the visit of Newcastle United last night.
Silva’s side perhaps suffered from something of a derby hangover as they were only able to muster a 1-1 draw with the struggling Magpies and it was not a good night for Turkish international Tosun in front of goal.
He missed from point-blank range as Everton’s attack faltered somewhat, leaving it down to Richarlison once more to provide the goal threat, saving his side’s blushes after Salomon Rondon opened the scoring early on.
It seems like Everton fans are getting fed up of Tosun misfiring and want their club to offload him in January, just twelve months after they signed him during the mid-season window in 2018.
We’ve had a look at some of the best reaction…
He’s just not good enough. So static and too easy to mark.

Hopefully the last we ever see of him.

After the Southampton cup game I’d seen enough then. Lovely bloke. Turkish Niasse.

He’s become Jelavic II. Sadly.
I’m certain this will be addressed but hopefully not too late in January that we lose sight of 6th.
I trust M&M 👍
