Thierno Barry was handed the humiliation of being subbed off at half-time as Everton came from behind to inflict Crystal Palace’s first defeat in 17 games.
It has not been an easy start to life on Merseyside for the young striker, who has struggled to keep his place in the team at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton signed Barry for £27m, and the supporters are already making worrying predictions for the Frenchman’s future.
The manager’s decision to take him off at the break actually paid off; however, it won’t have done his confidence any good, and that is concerning the fans.

David Moyes slammed for hauling Thierno Barry off at half-time vs Crystal Palace
Everton fans were fuming after seeing David Moyes haul Thierno Barry off at half-time as they trailed Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old was subbed off during the interval in what was a shocking first 45 minutes at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the Toffees.
Barry struggled to make a mark on the game and didn’t look particularly threatening when he had the chance against the Eagles.

Moyes has already been critical of Barry, suggesting that he wasn’t yet ready for life in the Premier League, and so far he’s been proven right.
But it hardly does a young striker’s confidence any good by making that clear and by withdrawing him early in a tough match against Palace.
During the match, Everton fans took to social media to share their frustrations towards the manager’s decision to take off Barry.
One fan suggested Barry could now be moved on in January: “Here we go, Barry off, Beto on, kill that lad’s confidence even more. May as well sell him in January, he’s never doing it here, I actually feel sorry for him.”
“Can’t really be any worse. Can see Barry out on loan in January if we can get somebody in to cover his spot,” added another fan.
There were further question marks over Moyes’ sub: “I’m sorry, but how do we give Barry confidence? I know! Take him off at half-time! Wrong game to start him imo. Poor from Moyes.”
Finally, another claimed: “Would love to know what this is doing for any confidence Barry or Beto have?”
David Moyes’ Beto gamble pays off vs Crystal Palace
Moyes’ gamble to bring on Beto paid off big time, though, as the striker played a key role in forcing the winning goal.
The Portuguese striker produced a thumping header which Dean Henderson could only parry into the path of Jack Grealish.
The more experienced striker worked exceptionally hard in the second 45 minutes and certainly showed Moyes he should be starting more often.
But it does now leave question marks over Barry’s immediate future with the Toffees following yet another lacklustre showing.
