Everton fans salute Digne's two-goal display in comfortable win over Burnley
Everton’s 6-2 home defeat against Tottenham was humbling for Marco Silva’s new-look side and should not be happening to a team with their lofty ambitions.
But if it served as a wake-up call, then it might be a positive in the long run and the immediate signs were that it sparked a reaction out of the Toffees yesterday.
In need of a response, Everton ran out 5-1 winners against struggling Burnley on Boxing Day, with Yerry Mina, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison all on the scoresheet, alongside two-goal hero Lucas Digne.
The Frenchman has already displayed his eye for goal since arriving from Barcelona in the summer and it was in full view again yesterday; he netted Everton’s second with a sumptuous first half free kick and their fourth with a thumping drive after the interval.

It was another impressive display from a player who has slotted in seamlessly at Goodison Park and looks set to be the long-term replacement for Leighton Baines that the club has been searching for for quite some time now.
The Everton supporters love him and showed him exactly that after yesterday’s double-salvo…
Quality mate. MOTM today again. Best signing we have made for a long time 👍💙
