Everton fans react to Tom Davies’ performance in gut-wrenching Leicester defeat

Everton have lost 2-1 to Leicester City after some late VAR drama.

Everton have lost 2-1 to Leicester City after a late goal from Kelechi Iheanacho was given after VAR overturned an incorrect offside position. The Nigerian slotted home the winner after the Toffees embattled performance fell away in the second-half. Richarlison had given Everton the lead but goals from Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho secured a 2-1 win.

It is a result that will undoubtedly heap more and more pressure on manager Marco Silva, whose defensive tactics could not hold out at the King Power Stadium.

There were plenty of positives to take from the game as an Everton fan but, unfortunately, the negatives once again outweighed them.

One of those was the performance of Tom Davies.

The midfielder has been one of Everton’s better performers in recent weeks but this was not his best performance.

He struggled throughout the game with the physical aspect of the midfield battle with Leicester.

Davies continually gave away the ball and was often found weak in the tackle, especially in the lead up to the Leicester equaliser.

By the end of the game, Davies looked out on his feet and Silva probably should have pulled him from the pitch for a substitute. However, the Portuguese made other decisions and the result is Everton losing 2-1 and potentially, the Portuguese boss losing his job.

Davies was clearly one of the player’s the Everton fans decided was to blame…
