Everton fans react to Seamus Coleman display vs Burnley

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Seamus Coleman after the defender’s display against Burnley on Monday.

The Toffees have continued their impressive start to the campaign under Rafa Benitez. They came from behind to beat the Clarets 3-1 at Goodison Park.

It was a remarkable spell of the game. Burnley took the lead after 53 minutes. Within 13 minutes, Everton had scored three times and were moments away from putting the ball in the net for a fourth time. Abdoulaye Doucoure’s effort was ruled out for offside.

A number of players produced superb displays. But many felt that Coleman was one of the standout performers for the home side.

Plenty lauded the 32-year-old after he backed up Richarlison when tempers boiled over. He seemed to be willing to take on any Burnley player in his way.

And several insisted that he rolled back the years with his performance on the right flank.

He will have games where he will make a greater impact in the final third. But no questions could be asked about the energy that he provided throughout the contest.

The likes of Doucoure, Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend will understandably take many of the headlines.

Both Townsend and Gray are being lauded as bargain signings in light of the impact they have made since arriving in the summer.

But of course, Coleman is the poster boy for absolutely incredible pieces of business in the Premier League. And he is continuing to step up for the Toffees.
