Everton fans react to reported swoop for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo

Everton are apparently still in the market for a central defender.

Everton are interested in a deadline day move for Manchester United central defender Marcos Rojo, according to the Daily Mail.

They report that Harry Maguire’s move to Old Trafford has shunted the Argentine down the pecking order and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now let him go.

The report also says that Marco Silva tried to bring Rojo to Goodison Park last summer as well and he has gone back in after a loan bid for his United team-mate Chris Smalling failed yesterday.

It also states that Rojo’s injury record concerns Silva, who would rather sign the £80,000-a-week ace (Spotrac) on loan initially.

Rojo came in off the back of playing in the World Cup final of 2014 but his career has stalled during his time at United, with injuries not helping his bid to regain form.

He’s never really shown that he could be a Premier League defender, too rash in the tackle and too slow to shackle the sharper forwards in the division.

Loads of Everton fans on Twitter have recognised that fact and do not want their club to go anywhere near the 29-year-old and are panicking over the link…
