Everton fans react to reported interest in Wilfried Zaha

Everton are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by stating there is little chance they pull off the deal.

The Evening Standard reports that the Toffees have joined Arsenal in the race for the speed machine, but the latter are considered frontrunners.

The report explains that Palace do value the 26-year-old at around £80million and he’s still on a £130,000-a-week contract with them for another four years.

It is understood that Ademola Lookman is expected to depart for £22.5million and Everton will look to bring in a new forward to replace him.

Everton have already added Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph to their squad this summer, but Zaha would be a high-profile signing.

Zaha is a versatile attacker that can play as a winger or a centre-forward and he’s been a talisman at Selhurst Park in recent times.

The Ivory Coast international has express pace and great trickery on the ball, which makes his movement so difficult for defenders to handle.

He scored 10 goals and supplied 10 assists in the Premier League last season, which is why he looks ready for a step up in class.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media can’t see Zaha ending up at Goodison Park for the new campaign.

They don’t believe the Merseyside club would break their transfer record to splash £80million on the wide man.

Some also feel that he would be far too overpriced and they could do better.
